This book was written by Jeremiah the prophet
⏩ The spiritual life of Israel had been going downhill for a long time. Many years before the Lord had great plans for Israel
⏩King Solomon had built a temple where God said he would put His name forever
⏩ But little by little Israel had begun to drift away from the Lord until by the time of Jeremiah the prophet, they had begun to do unspeakable things.
✔The way that God has a relation with His people Israel was different than any other God in history ever had with a people.
📌 The first is like the marriage of a man and wife. This continues in the NT as Jesus is the bridegroom and we the church are the bride of Christ
📌The second is one of God as a Father and we are His children. Muslims for example would never call God “Father”
