  1. How do you know when you’re bitter?

Bitter People….

Keep records of wrong

Can’t leave wrongs in the past

Self-righteous judgments are common

  1. Causes of bitterness?

Think people sinned against you

The disappointment of unfulfilled expectations

Jealousy

You have been sinned against

  1. What we need to know

No one makes you bitter

Bitterness is a cycle

  1. What is forgiveness?

Canceling the debt

Forsaking revenge

Leaving justice in God’s hands

  1. What is forgiveness is not

Forgetting

Not usually a single event

Not always biting tongue and saying nothing

Not dumb trust

  1. How do we know when we have forgiven?

When you genuinely want the best for the other

  1. The reason for forgiveness

To save ourselves from the misery of bitterness

To break the chain you have created to the other

Free your mind.

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you”. Ephesians 4:32
